Growing Closer to God and Each Other

What We Do

Connecting women through fun opportunities, developing a deeper understanding of God’s Word, establishing healthy relationships with one another, and growing hearts fully devoted to Jesus Christ.

I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.

– Psalm 9:1-2

About Women’s Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at Mountainview exists to help us be women who will make an impact in our families, in our workplace, in our neighborhoods, and in our community. We offer programs to meet the needs of women in all stages of life. As you get involved, it is our desire that you will be encouraged through friendships and that your heart will be enriched by studying and applying God’s Word to your life.

We also hope you can join us for some of our upcoming events. These include activities for women as well as church-wide activities that we think you’ll be interested in. Growing closer to God through learning opportunities is what we’re all about. But, we’re also about having fun. Women’s Ministry wants to help you get connected to God and to one another.

Women’s Encounter – February 4- April 14, 2020

Please join us for a LIVE TEACHING class this spring 2020 from our own Mountainview women! Tuesday mornings from 9:15-11:15am (with a break on March 17).

A different teacher each week will present on a female character from the Bible

This fun and interactive study will springboard from Liz Curtis Higgs’ book Bad Girls of the Bible. Women everywhere marvel at those “good girls” in Scripture–Sarah, Mary, Esther–but on most days, that’s not who they see when they look in the mirror. Most women (if they’re honest) see the selfishness of Sapphira or the deception of Delilah. They catch of glimpse of Jezebel’s take-charge pride or Eve’s disastrous disobedience. Like Bathsheba, Herodias, and the rest, today’s modern woman is surrounded by temptations, exhausted by the demands of daily living, and burdened by her own desires. So what’s a good girl to do? Learn from their lives, says beloved Bible study teacher and speaker Liz Curtis Higgs, and choose a better path. Whether they were “Bad to the Bone,” “Bad for a Season, but Not Forever” or only “Bad for a Moment,” these infamous sisters show women how not to handle the challenges of life. Let these Bad Girls show you why studying the Bible has never been more fun!
