Care Ministry at Mountainview

Serving Jesus by Serving Others

I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

– Matthew 25:35-36

Our goal is to create a community of care, acceptance and warmth for anyone who attends a Mountainview gathering.

Care Ministry: Supporting Those in Extraordinary Circumstances

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. To learn more about our Stephen Ministry, click here.

Meal Ministry

A meal delivered when it helps the most says “Care” better than almost anything. To help us be ready, we need to build our meal team. We are looking for people to be “On-Call” so when an opportunity arises we know who to contact. Frozen meals can be brought to the church so they will be ready when needed.

Mountainview Prays

Lifting a person’s prayer request to God is the most powerful expression of care. Our pray team uses an effective process of collecting and distributing prayer requests. We are looking for trustworthy people to join the prayer team so every person who requests pray will experience care through the power of prayer.

Hannah Group

The Hannah Group is for women dealing with miscarriage and infertility. This can be a lonely time for any woman going through these trials and this group is a
meeting place to support and encourage one another. There is a devotional time, prayer, and sharing/support.

The group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 6:30-7:15pm in the Great Room. Childcare is available. The group is ongoing and attendees may come and go as needed in their journey. Please email to RSVP and with any questions.

In Step

A ministry of tangible expressions of care is being developed. Walking IN-STEP with people by caring for their everyday needs such as, buying groceries, baby sitting, cleaning, home repairs, car maintenance, etc., is an important way to help a person or family feel cared for during extraordinary circumstances.

Future Opportunities

Below are potential opportunities we foresee to provide care in the church and from the church to the community.

  • Special Needs Children and their families
  • Divorce Support and Recovery
  • Grief Share
  • Addiction Recovery
  • Unemployment and job networking
  • Prison and re-entry ministry
  • Homelessness

We're Only Step Away

Everyone has defining moments, challenging circumstances, relational pain, and difficult times. The Care Ministry of Mountainview Christian Church provides a network of support to help you through these times.

Hospital Visits

Whether it’s an upcoming, scheduled surgery or an unexpected hospital visit, we would love to stop by and spend a few brief moments praying with you, encouraging you, and letting you know you’re not alone.

We’ll also visit rehab centers and nursing homes, as needed!

Pastoral Counseling

We are blessed to have several staff members who offer pastoral counseling. We also have a good working relationship with Grace Counseling in Littleton for those who would benefit from professional help.

Weddings and Funerals

Our team of pastors have many years of experience performing weddings and funerals.
