Life-Changing Teaching

Mountainview is committed to providing life-changing teaching that is drawn from the Bible. We believe that practical teaching is one of the keys to developing spiritual maturity.

Series Overview

What kind of life does God offer the person who follows Jesus? It is truly an alternative lifestyle compared to the one the world offers. Using Romans 8, we will explore what it means to life a God-filled, God-directed life.

May 2-3 – Set Free (Matt)

What does it mean to not be under condemnation? The gospel sets us free from sin and death and enables us to live a truly righteous life.

May 9-10 – Led by the Spirit (Ken)

When Jesus enters your life, you begin living for different reasons. As Spirit-led people, we are to live according to the desires of the Spirit. And what does the Spirit desire? That we please God. We are able to live a God-pleasing life because resurrection power is available to us.

May 16-17 – Waiting Patiently for Glory (Jon)

Many people live without real hope. Or, they live with wishful thinking … “wishing things would get better.” One of the things that distinguishes a person of faith from one with no relationship with Jesus is the prominence of hope. Hope is what allows us to endure our present sufferings, knowing that this life is not all there is.

May 23-24 – When We Don’t Know How to Pray (Ken)

How many times have you found yourself unable to put your feelings into words? The good news is that we do not face life alone or unassisted. Just as Jesus promised, we are not orphans – we have the help of the Holy Spirit.

May 30-31 – If God be for Us, Who can be Against Us? (Ken)

The closing lines of Romans 8 are truly incredible! Paul reminds us of our true position in Christ – more than conquerors and loved by God. Using a courtroom analogy, Paul encourages us to stay the course because God is on our side.
