Care Ministry at Mountainview

Serving Jesus by Serving Others

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

– Matthew 25:35-36

Our goal is to create a community of care, acceptance and warmth for anyone who attends a Mountainview gathering.

What is a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour.

Twice a month, Stephen Ministers gather with their Stephen Leaders for supervision and continuing education. Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness.

If you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening, please begin to prayerfully consider whether you might want to be part of this exciting ministry.
