About Family Ministry
Our Family Ministry model, known as Faith Path, is intended to help you develop a clear plan to intentionally point your child toward Christ in an age appropriate manner. We hope that you are naturally exposing your child to many of these faith practices or preparing for certain milestones at specific ages and stages. To help you during this amazing time of your child/children’s growth, we have a free kit that is designed to come alongside you from birth to graduation of your child. Whenever possible, Mountainview Kids and Student Ministries strategically work together to blur the lines between the two areas and serve families as a whole. This effort includes events designed for all ages, regularly teaching on the same topic, and supporting each other’s events and programming.
Our Mountainview Kids Ministry will be for children from birth to fifth grade. Sixth through 12th graders will make up our Student Ministry. Our Family Ministry programming not only includes classes during our weekend services, but also mid-week programming such as Living for Him 24/7 and Encounter Kids.

Family Movie Nights
Family Movie Nights happen several times throughout the year and are a great opportunity for your family to watch a wholesome and fun movie together. Movies are shown on the big screen in the Celebration Center and families are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, bring snacks and comfy blankets to sit on. Most recently, we’ve shown the movies Elf, The Croods and the Lion King. Be sure to check the upcoming events calendar for the next family movie night.
Family Service Weekends
Several times throughout the year we hold Family Service Weekends in which we invite all our families to worship together. During these weekend services, our Student Ministry and Mountainview Kids Ministry programming is suspended so that we can worship God all together.Be sure to check the upcoming events calendar for the next family service weekend.
Move-Up Day takes place at the end of May/beginning of June to celebrate our Mountainview Kids that will be moving up to our Student Ministry. These are fifth graders going into sixth grade. Move-Up Day is also for our middle school students moving up to high school.
Trunk-or-Treat happens in October around Halloween and is a great opportunity for our families to celebrate the Fall season together. Members of our congregation decorate their trunks and park in the parking lot, passing out candy to children who come by. Fun games and activities are also set up inside the building in the Celebration Center. This event is open to the public and a great opportunity to invite the community to get-to-know Mountainview.
Taking the Next Step
Mountainview Kids Baptism Class
Preparing a child for baptism is one of the most rewarding and joyful experiences of parenthood. The Mountainview Kids baptism class is designed to come alongside parents to explain God’s plan of salvation to school-age children who have expressed an interest in baptism. We also discover what the Bible has to say about baptism. It is essential for a child to understand what it means to offer a lifetime commitment to Jesus before making this most important decision. Parent and child attend the class together. There is no pressure to make a decision. The class serves as a means for ongoing conversation between the parent and child. If you are interested in attending the class but have questions, please contact Phil Christian, Children and Family Ministries Director, at 303.471.9644 x121 or send email to Phil@mountainviewfamily.org. Upcoming Mountainview Kids Baptism Class is Apr. 3 (12:30 p.m.).
Parent Dedication Class & Ceremony
Children are a blessing from God! This blessing is a joyous responsibility and challenge that requires you to depend upon the Lord day by day. Here at Mountainview, we believe that the journey of raising a child to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is key to their future. We also believe that this relationship begins at home with your commitment to pursue a personal connection with Christ. We offer a special dedication ceremony to celebrate this personal commitment. In this special ceremony of Child Dedication, you will: Acknowledge your need for God’s wisdom, guidance, and strength in parenting.
Commit to pursue becoming a Joshua 24:15 household… “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Celebrate the joy and love of your child before God. If you are interested in dedicating your child but have questions, please contact Melissa McGarity at 303.471.9644 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask that all families participating in our Parent Dedication ceremony first attend our Parent Dedication class. Upcoming Parent Dedication Class is Apr. 10 (10:30 a.m.). Upcoming Parent Dedication Ceremony is May 7 (11 a.m.)
