Faith Development

Our mission at Mountainview is to help unchurched people become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Simply put, we want you to know God better and to love Him more passionately.

E4U is a learning environment for adults and teenagers designed to help you grow in your understanding of God and His Word.  Based on four spiritual formation themes, E4U offers entry-level classes for new believers as well as more challenging topics for those who wish to dive deeper.

Spring 2012 Tuesday Night Classes

E4U - Christian Fundamentals/Church History (Taught by Mark Scott and Ken Hensley)

Over twelve weeks we will explore fundamental Christian beliefs and church history.  The first six weeks will be lead by Ken Hensley and will cover basic Christian beliefs -- what they are, where they came from, and what they mean to us.  The last six weeks, taught by Mark Scott, will examine how these beliefs (and others) have lived throughout church history. Cost is $15 and includes all materials (childcare is extra).  Register now.

E4U - Love and Respect (Taught by Brian and Bobbi Cook and Darryl and Natalie McGowan)

We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved.  The authors of "Love and Repect" asked 7,000 people this question: when you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected?  83% of the men said "disrespected."  72% of the women said, "unloved."  Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!  Cost is $15 and includes all materials (childcare is extra).  Register now.

Spiritual Growth Track

Our spiritual growth track consists of three core classes we encourage every Mountainview attender to take.  These are "Discovering Mountainview", "Developing Spiritual Habits", and "Discovering Your Shape."

Spiritual formation is the process of becoming more like Jesus.  It's about allowing God to shape us through the influence of the Holy Spirit.  Growth happens when we dig into God's Word and apply it to our everyday lives.
