Middle School Camp Como Blog

By Matt Cass, Student Ministry Director

We took eight of our middle schoolers to Camp Como Middle School Session 2 this year along with three sponsors and a baby!  All of our students had a great time getting to know each other better over the course of the week.  Our focus for our times of worship and our family group times this year was the Resurrection and the Hope we have because Jesus rose from the dead.  It was great to see how all of our students grew during their quiet times and openness to worshipping over the course of the week.  Two of our girls made decisions for Christ this week and we look forward to talking with them about baptism!

We also had lots of fun experiencing all of the great rec time at camp.  All of our students enjoyed Como’s zip line.  We also enjoyed the Wednesday hike up Little Baldy.  This is a Wednesday Como tradition and this year did not disappoint.  We had fantastic weather for the hike and all of our students made it to the summit and had lunch at the top.  Of course we also had plenty of free time to enjoy camp game favorites like 9 square and gaga ball.  One of the other fun things we got to do while we were at camp was to film the Pulse for big church!

Camp Como 2015 was a great experience for everyone who went.  We look forward to returning in 2016 with even more students!
