A Word from Our Senior Pastor
We began with one simple desire: to help people across South Denver find their way back to God. Ever since then, we have worked hard to create an atmosphere where real people can connect with a real God.
Our weekend worship services feature creative expressions such as modern music, spoken word pieces, and storytelling through video. Our “talent pool” is comprised of people who have had their lives changed by the good news of Jesus Christ. It’s one reason why guests often describe our worship as authentic.
Our teaching team is committed to sharing the Bible in a way that you can apply directly to your life. We laugh at ourselves, speak conversationally, and aim for the head and the heart.
Mountainview is a resilient church that has always looked forward.
Beginning with our days in the grade school, we have had a willingness to reach people no one else was reaching. That often meant we had to do things no other church was doing. That heartbeat will not change. As our former Senior Pastor, Jim Phillips, was fond of saying, we have been blessed to be a blessing. He was right. We have been blessed in so many ways — with talents, abilities, resources, and much more. It’s time we reignite our responsibility to be a blessing to others.
I’m proud of our staff. We have assembled a top-notch team that I would stack up against any other. I’m proud of what we’re doing with new churches and campuses in Westwood, Aurora, Erie, Green Valley Ranch, and Castle Rock. I’m proud that we have a significant presence in foreign places. We have three couples from Mountainview who have moved full-time to the mission field (Tony and Freddie Herrera, Joe and Jennifer Brown, and Carl and Chris Medearis).
I’m proud of those who call Mountainview home. This is your church. You serve, teach, encourage, lead, invite, pray, and give. We are not a building; we are a movement of God in South Denver.
Experience the difference for yourself this weekend.
