Our dream is to transform our current space into a place that better facilitates the transformation of lives.
Transforming our space into a place where transformation happens.
EnVision: God is Able
Envision: God is Able
Our vision takes only one sentence to write but will require the supernatural assistance of God to accomplish: “Mountainview will impact South Denver and beyond by fostering a movement to start healthy 3G (Glorify, Grow, and Go) campuses and churches.”
We have an opportunity to create a space for transformation to happen in people’s lives.
The Greatest Stories are Written by Those Who Walk in Faith.
They are disciplined dreamers who take Jesus at his word and live accordingly: “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 17:20)
2017 will mark the 25th anniversary of our church and the 15th anniversary of our moving into our current building. When the church was meeting in a grade school and averaging around 300 people, we raised almost $900,000 to purchase the five acres that we call home.
Today, we stand on the shoulders of the faithful, courageous men and women who sacrificed so that we might benefit 15 years later.
We now have the opportunity to do the same for the people who will walk through these doors 15 years from now. This is not only an investment in our future, it is a continuation of the generosity that has marked Mountainview from the very beginning.
Why This, Why Now?
Our current building was built at a time when school doors were left open and anyone could come and go as they pleased. Our remodel will provide a secure, controlled-access area for our youngest children. It will also allow us to create a 100% kid-centric space by not having to share the hallway with our entrance into the main room.
Our middle and high school ministry is one of our fastest growing areas within the church (and community!). We will be creating a new and expanded Student Center upstairs, complete with stage and room dividers. During the week, this will also increase our adult education space.
Our previous entrance and lobby was small and not designed for facilitating conversations. By opening the lobby and adding areas like a fireplace and cafe, we are intentionally creating conversational spaces. We want people to “come early and stay late.”
The folks at Mountainview have setting up and taking down chairs since the grade school days. By better utilizing our children’s and student spaces, we will minimize (not eliminate) the need to take down chairs every weekend. Not only will this be less wear and tear on the chairs, it will incorporate a sense of permanence that has been missing.
