Why do I need to create an account?
Create an account so we know who you are.  We'll ask for some basic demographic information, and you'll need to provide your birth date.

Why do you need my birth date?
Three reasons, really... none of them with a hidden agenda:  1) Knowing the life stage you are in helps us make sure the information you get is helpful to you.  2) This information adds another layer of security since you are able to make financial transactions online.  It decrease the ability for hackers to access your information.  3) Although there is no inappropriate content on our site, certain events and classes are age restricted.  The birth date prevents children from registering for adult events (and vice versa).

What can I do after I create an account?
Some of the highlights are a free weekly newsletter, online registration for events, classes and groups (24/7, whenever it's convenient for you), priority status when you contact us via the web.  Your message is routed directly to an assigned staff person (your message won't sit ina generic mailbox with all other general requests), secure online contributions and the ability to view your giving history online.

Will I be bombarded with spam?
No.  Don't worry.  We hate that, too.  We get that "your space" is not "our space."

Isn't putting personal information online dangerous?
At many sites, we would agree with you.  That's why we've made this one completely secure.  Let's clarify what you won't get when you create a mountainviewfamily.org account:  spammed, sold to the highest bidder, delughed with information you don't want, infiltrated by spyware or asked for money, and email forwards with cookie recipes, chain letters or angel poems.
