Every Person Matters
Mountainview is more than our Saturday or Sunday worship services. Our goal is not to have the perfect worship set; our goal is to partner with God in changing our world.
Because we believe every person matters, we seek to equip and empower our church community to get involved in serving others. Each week, people new to their spiritual journey serve alongside those who have been actively following Christ for years.
When you give your life to a cause, life takes on new meaning. It gets exciting … and challenging, too. But there’s nothing else quite like it!

The Harvest is Plentiful
“Jesus told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'” — Luke 10:2
I’ve been in full-time, vocational ministry for over twenty years. I have lived on the left coast, in the South, and now at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I have visited New England and spent several vacations in Seattle. I’ve dipped my toe into Canada as well as Mexico and, most recently, Nepal.
In every place, I’ve discovered the same thing: the problem is not with the harvest. In other words, there is no lack of people who have been separated from God. All around, there are plenty of people trying to discover (or rediscover) greater meaning in life. Guilt and shame are not bound by boundaries. The need for forgiveness transcends political parties, skin color, and accents.
The harvest is plentiful. Even in the “Bible Belt” states, the harvest is plentiful. Here in Colorado, the harvest is plentiful. I just don’t buy the argument, “There’s just not many people around here who are interested in God.” (Side note: just because they may not be interested in your church does not mean they are not interested in God).
The problem is not with the harvest.
The problem is a lack of workers.
Even with the advances of modern technology, crops today do not harvest themselves. Tractors have changed. Combines are bigger. Harvesting still takes work done by workers.
What does Jesus say? God wants to unleash workers into his harvest field.
The question for todaya’s Christ-followers is this: do I want to be unleashed? Do I want to ease my grip on my time, talents, and treasures so that God can repurpose them for his kingdom? I am willing to make myself available?
There is a great harvest to be gained. Will you join me in praying for God to unleash more people into the fields?
— Pastor Ken Hensley
